David Tisherman

David Tisherman is celebrated as a master water-effects designer and builder, known for his ability to transform water into art without compromise. 

His expertise extends beyond aesthetics to include a profound understanding of structural engineering, particularly concerning soil conditions—a knowledge that is widely respected in the industry. The Robb Report has honored him as “The Master Designer and Builder of the Pool Industry” and “The most influential pool designer and builder of the last three decades.”

David Tisherman is the principal and founder of David Tisherman’s Visuals, Inc., a renowned national and international watershape design/build firm established in 1979, headquartered in Manhattan Beach, CA. Throughout his distinguished career, David has championed the highest standards in aquatic design, engineering, and construction.

In addition to his professional practice, David has made significant contributions to education. He has served as a Department Chair and member of the Adjunct Faculty and Guidance Committee at UCLA, where he taught architectural rendering and presentation for over two decades, earning recognition as “Teacher of the Year” in 1984. He also chaired the National Builders Council for the National Spa and Pool Institute.

Justin Quinn

Justin Quinn is a Partner and Landscape Architect at James Doyle Design Associates. He began his landscape architectural career in 2007 after serving as an Infantry officer in the United States Army. His military experience overseas has provided him with a unique perspective and a disciplined approach to his work.

Over the past decade, Justin has risen through the ranks at James Doyle Design Associates to become a Partner and Principal. Known for his exceptional talent in solving complex site design challenges, Justin combines creativity with practicality to ensure that every project is not only innovative but also feasible to construct.

Tour & Transportation included in the price for course registrants. Spouse tickets are available for a fee. The tour will be on Sunday, Sept 29 with arrival back to the hotel mid-afternoon.
