Watershape University will deploy an extensive technical upgrade on July 8th, 2024. The purpose of this new system is to unify our Student Portal, streamlining online/on-demand course delivery, live course registration, and e-commerce functionalities, all now easily accessible on one platform and single account/login for every student.
Please read the FAQ below for important information about how to access this new system, including what will happen to current enrollments, and other important details as WU executes this exciting and important transition.
HOW WILL THIS NEW SYSTEM CHANGE MY WATERSHAPE UNIVERSITY ONLINE EXPERIENCE?
The largest and most notable change for students in this new system is how and where to access Watershape University’s library of online, on-demand education. This includes several of our flagship “Essential” courses including Construction 2111: Essential Pool Construction, and Service 2811: Essential Watershape Operation and Maintenance (CWO), as well our extensive catalogue of free and premium webinars.
Previously, students have accessed our online, on-demand classes using a separate account to login to a secondary website, online.watershape.org. These secondary accounts were connected to student’s main Student Portal accounts. In essence, students would have to login to online.watershape.org to take an online class, and then login to the current Student Portal to download the certificate of completion for that class.
With our new system, all online student functionality is handled through a single account at www.watershape.org/student-portal.
WHEN IS THIS NEW SYSTEM GOING LIVE?
The new unified Student Portal will go live on https://watershape.org/student-portal/ on Monday July 8th, 2024.
HOW DO I GAIN ACCESS TO THIS NEW SYSTEM?
Your username/login for the new system is the same as your existing username/login for the current Student Portal.
All students need to complete a one-time process to set their password for the new system.
You may set your password up for the new system before it launches.
Please use https://watershape.org/my-account/lost-password/ to set the password for your account.
You may use the same password you have been using to access the Student Portal, or you may change it.
You do not need to know or remember your original Student Portal password to set your password for the new system.
WHAT IS BEING CARRIED OVER TO THE NEW SYSTEM FROM MY OLD ACCOUNT?
All previously completed student course records for all class types—live in person, online on-demand, and live online—will be available under the new system. Student profile and account information will also be carried over.
Students will retain earned badges such as Certified Watershape Foreman (CWF) and Certified Wateshape Operator (CWO). A more streamlined certification/badging process is currently in development and will be incorporated into the new system.
WHAT ABOUT THE COURSES I’M ALREADY ENROLLED IN?
All paid online, on-demand enrollments will transfer to the new system. These include all essential online, on-demand courses:
Construction 2111: Essential Pool Construction
Engineering 2311: Essential Fluid Engineering
Business 3451: Essential Cost Estimating Workshop
Service 2811: Essential Watershape Operation and Maintenance
As well as all premium webinars:
Business 2131: Design & Construction Contracts
Engineering 1341: MAHC Turnover Calculations
Engineering 3121: Geotechnical Loads and the Unified Soil Classification System
Engineering 3421: Electrical Load Calculations
Engineering 3431: Submerged LED Lighting Application
Free webinar enrollment will not transfer to the new system. All free webinars will be available as part of the new system and students can reenroll in webinars they wish to rewatch.
This enrollment transfer will be completed by July 8th, 2024.
Please note: Current progress made in courses on online.watershape.org (the “old” system) will NOT transfer to the new system.
WHAT ABOUT COURSES I’M CURRENTLY WORKING ON? I DON’T WANT TO REWATCH MANY HOURS OF A COURSE I HAVEN’T FINISHED YET.
In order to give students who are currently working on long, paid courses–such as Essential Pool Construction–an opportunity to finish their enrollments, online.watershape.org will be kept online until mid-October of this year. We will announce a specific shutdown date for online.watershape.org at least one month in advance.
Students will not be able to enroll in any new courses on online.watersahpe.org after the new unified student experience goes live on July 8th, 2024. Online.watershape.org will be kept online only for currently-enrolled students to have an opportunity to finish courses already in-progress.
